Well I enjoyed that last lucky dip so much that I have decided to do it again, so here goes. Totally at random again, honestly! So we have got a good programme here, Johnny Wark and Arthur Albiston on the front cover. Having a quick peak at the league table after 15 games we were in 3rd place, behind Liverpool and Villa were top but had played two more league games than us. We had beaten Villa 1-0 at home at the start of September and drawn with Liverpool 1-1 at Anfield on 11th October. It is a coincidence to see that Frans Thijssen score both of our goals in those two games. This game date is 15th November and our last home game was on November 1st, a 0-0 draw with WBA. Also this game against Leicester is our 5th of the month so far with 3 more to play before the month' send. Flicking through the programme and I am amazed to see some of the pictures and quotes. I had to take the gloves for about 40 minutes against WBA and somehow,,, ok I had a great defence in front of me, I managed to keep a clean sheet! I even got a sort of compliment from the Boss for my 'competence between the woodwork'! I was even happier being the first Ipswich player that season to win 3 Man of the Match Awards. So three 'meals for two' at the Pier at Harwich for the league game awards and The Talbooth for Cup games. Many thanks Gerald Milsom and family. Also in November my Dad started working at the Centre Spot at Portman Road, honestly this programme was a lucky dip from about 100 programmes! Colin Clarke, by boot boy back in the day, went on to play for Southampton, QPR, Portsmouth and Northern Ireland and Tommy Parkin. Tommy is still in Ipswich, decorating, my oldest boy was named after him, believe it or not. Osvaldo Ardiles was a magnificent player and is a wonderful person. As an actor he is not bad either and I have the pleasure of seeing him every year at different golf events around the county. A great player for Tottingham Hotspur! By the way what an interesting programme and I promise it was a random pick.
